Fantastic Frangilli

The hottest men’s recurve archer in the world is Italy’s Michele Frangilli, who enters Athens with his own excellent streak intact. Since 2000, he has won a major title each year. He won the world field title in 2000, the world indoor title in 2001, the world field title again in 2002, and the world outdoor title in 2003. Frangilli, 28, has also won a team medal at each of the past two Olympics: bronze in 1996 and silver in Sydney. He comes from Gallarate, in northern Italy. His father Vittorio is a council member of the Italian Archery Federation and his younger sister Carla won the world cadet title last month.
