France joins three Asian teams in 1/2 final

The semifinals of the Women’s Team archery event could have been 100-percent Asian, but the three ladies from France have decided otherwise. After a victory over fourth seed Polish team in the lowest score match (226-224) of this Friday morning, the French defeated India by only one point in a very tight and tense confrontation (228-227).

In the next round, the French team will certainly have a hard time facing the favourite team: Korea indeed appears to be heading for a second gold medal in the archery event of this Olympics. "I think that we will meet China in the final. Our team is very confident and they are shooting well, so I think that we will win the gold medal", the Korean coach Seo Geo Won said after the qualification of his protégées.

However, Chinese Taipei and China will do everything to give a hard time to their Asian rivals. The two teams will meet in this afternoon’s second semifinal in what is expected to be a very close and exciting match.

With its leader, Yuan Shu Chi, who just missed the individual podium two days ago, Chinese Taipei will try to foil third seed China’s plans to progress to the Gold final match. "We have to face a very strong team and we will try to do our best. We know that this is going to be a difficult match", said Yuan. Let’s wait and see! Appointment is made for 3:45 this afternoon.
